ABOUT GIZ:

Born 1977 in NYC, was given his tag by Show MSD (RIP) in Bushwick.in 1988. At the age of 10, with no guidance, he played around writing in the train yards and train stations of the New York City transit system. He continued to do this with his crew MTA, however, NYC took a big turn into cleaning the transit system and it became a losing battle. This was when there was a big transformation from the end of the train era, into the era of street bombing. Street bombing required a lot of footwork compared to Subway bombing. So in 1991, Giz and his crew MTA took to the streets and started an All City bombing campaign throughout the five Burroughs of New York City. That’s what MTA became known to stand for Most Talked About. Giz became well known for doing fillins that were extremely clean, crisp, and very solid filled in. And because the streets were so covered in graffiti, he started using force fields around his throw ups to make it stand out from the rest of the background.
Although his heart was in painting the transit system, GIZ spent many years bombing the streets of New York City and eventually throughout the world. In 1998 he was exposed to entering the Gallery scene which he was loosely involved with for many years. However, now he is very involved in the fine art aspect, and he is known for using his graffiti to make sculptures , canvases and drawings. Although it is fine, art GIZ makes it mandatory to incorporate his graffiti in the Fine art. And although he is in the gallery scene, he still continues to paint the real graffiti that he’s been known for. And has no intentions to stop.
